Nicole Rossa (FKA Nicole Lucas) is an accomplished comedian and humor writer. Nicole has toured internationally and produced and performed shows for major festivals such as SXSW (Austin, TX) and the Bumbershoot Arts Festival (Seattle, WA.)
Having not been willing to share a COVID-soaked microphone with strangers in exchange for free chicken strips and beer, Nicole spent lockdown earning her MA in Comedy Writing from Falmouth University online under the mentorship of Simon Nichols, former Executive Producer for BBC Comedy and & Comedy Development Executive at NBC Universal.
I really rate Nicole highly as a comedy writer. Across her time on the MA Comedy Writing, Nicole has proven she has the combination of a splendidly inventive comic brain and a clear flair for developing compelling and engaging scripted comedy. As a writer, Nicole is also an excellent collaborator and team player: she’s a joy to work with and commands the respect of her peers.

Nicole has ADHD and is of Romani descent on her mother’s side. She reads tarot cards but does not play the tambourine. Her humor explores life’s challenges as an observant outsider who has never quite fit in– drawing special attention to the struggles of neurodivergent people, the working class, and economic outsiders.
Nicole lives in Cleveland, OH, because it’s cheap. When not in her chartreuse basement office writing spec scripts for television and narrative podcasts, she is often on the road, compiling experiences for her travel blog. On weekdays, between certain hours, she does semi-serious things like marketing, sales, writing the features (like this one and this one), and producing live comedy events (like this one at a pretty cool LA comedy club) for the American humor newspaper, The Funny Times.
